This is a film series chronicling the lives of various construction workers shaping Fenix.

The first episode, which premiered on Designboom, traces the introspective journey of architect Ma Yansong. It bridges his home, Beijing, with the museum's location, Rotterdam. Directed remotely from the Netherlands and partially filmed in Beijing, the episode navigates the complexities of creative collaboration across distance.

 

Each episode unfolds a distinct story, from Alex, a German wood craftsman who relocated to Rotterdam to establish his own company, to the experiences of five Bangladeshi seasonal construction workers. The series weaves together themes of migration, labour, and resilience while sensitively bridging linguistic and cultural divides to capture each narrative with depth and authenticity.​
