At the height of the COVID-19 crisis, as people grappled with uncertainty, the temporary exhibition This is Surrealism! at the Cobra Museum felt more timely than ever. Opening just a week after the Dutch government imposed restrictions, the exhibition took on an even deeper resonance.

 

I produced and art-directed a photo series in which young people from Amstelveen and the surrounding Randstad connected their own “surreal” experiences with the masterpieces of luminaries such as Salvador Dalí, Carel Willink, Paul Delvaux, Man Ray, and René Magritte.​
