This film series documents the lives of the construction workers building Fenix. The first episode, premiered on Designboom, follows architect Ma Yansong on an introspective journey as he designs Fenix Museum, forging a cultural bridge between his native Beijing and the museum’s future home in Rotterdam.

Each episode reveals a distinct story, ranging from Alex, a German woodworker who moved to Rotterdam to start his own company, to the shared experiences of five Bangladeshi seasonal labourers. In a museum dedicated to migration, the building process itself becomes symbolic: like a quiet echo of the Tower of Babel, people from different backgrounds must find ways to work together.
