BRIEF
Before the competition began, the US Open of Surf needed to be understood as more than a sporting event. The work focused on the moments leading into the competition that revealed surfing as a lifestyle shaped by community, ritual, and beauty.
METHOD
Surfers were photographed in the days leading into the competition. The art direction leaned into an experimental use of light designed to mirror the sensation of being one with the ocean.
IMPACT
The campaign broadened how the competition was experienced. It also strengthened early engagement around the event and reinforced a shared sense of identity across the sport’s community.
