BRIEF
During the construction of Fenix Museum of Migration, Bangladeshi seasonal migrant welders played a critical role in shaping the building. As the institution prepared to tell migration stories, the film documented a portion of the lived realities behind the hands that built it.
METHOD
Developed through research, translation, and sustained trust-building, the film followed five Bangladeshi welders shaping the museum’s construction. Through a collaborativeapproach, the film reframed labour from hidden infrastructure to visible authorship.
IMPACT
Although the film remained primarily an archival and digital storytelling piece, it became a defining internal narrative within the institution. When presented to the wider museum team, the film provoked a deeply emotional response, reframing the construction of Fenix as both an architectural and human story. It reinforced the institution’s connection to its own mission.
